An account of one man’s journey from the streets of East St. Louis, Illinois to the halls of Congress. Colonel Logan served his country for twenty-six years in numerous assignments in the US, Vietnam, and Korea. He was a member of the team that created the requirements for the Abrams tanks and managed other Army programs including tank ammunition and the M60 tank.After his Army service he was the Director of Washington Operations for General Motors Allison Transmission Division.His generation was the last to live through the war years. He tells of rationing, raising chickens in the city for eggs and the occasional Sunday dinner, and VJ Day, the end of World War II.He recounts his combat experiences in Vietnam and becoming embroiled in the events surrounding the My Lai massacre and ensuing investigations.In his second career with Allison Transmission, he frequently met with congressmen and senators to discuss Army budget priorities and funding for Allison programs.
